At Advanced Dentistry of Amarillo, we believe that a strong regimen of preventive care is the best way to fight tooth decay. You can gain additional protection against tooth decay and its potential consequences to your oral health by using MI Paste, which can be obtained from our office. Dr. Trey H. Miller and Dr. Clinton L. Esler want to share with you some important information about MI Paste, and how it may help you.

What is MI Paste and how does it work?

Available in five flavors, MI Paste is a topical, water-based, sugar-free crème that can be applied multiple times per day to help remineralize teeth, and lessen tooth sensitivity. It is easy and safe to use for almost anyone. After brushing your teeth, place a small amount on the surfaces of your teeth using either your finger or an applicator with a cotton tip.

Do not use your toothbrush to apply MI Paste.

The active ingredient in MI Paste is casein phosphopeptide (CPP), a molecule that occurs naturally and releases calcium and phosphate ions.

This calcium and phosphate have the following effects:

  • Additional fortification against tooth decay
  • Lessens sensitivity, especially before and after a professional cleaning, or following a teeth whitening treatment
  • Effective, safe, and will not exacerbate dry mouth

Should I use MI Paste?

If you are allergic to milk protein or benzoate preservatives, MI Paste is not for you.

MI Paste is recommended and safe for patients who are pregnant, or new mothers who are breastfeeding. The extra defense against tooth decay can be invaluable for these individuals who are at a higher risk of certain oral health issues including gum disease and tooth decay.

If you are interested in using MI Paste, it only is available by prescription. Let the staff at Advanced Dentistry of Amarillo provide this extra defense against tooth decay.
